KAC-DC Monthly Meeting and Forum

Please join us for an open discussion on U.S.-South Korea relations...

This is a crucial time in international relations. The volatile situation in Northeast Asia is of especial concern to the strategic interests of the United States.

The long-standing and deep-rooted alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea is of critical importance, but, based on prevalent media coverage, there appears to be a growth of anti-American sentiment in South Korea, although its levels have not been nearly as virulent as in a number of other societies.

Date: Thurs., March 13, 2003
Time: 7 to 8:30 pm.The reception will start at 6:30 pm.

The purpose of this forum is to help educate the public and the media on the realities of the complex modern-day relationship between the peoples of Korea and the United States.

 Panelists:
  • Congressman Xavier Becerra;
  • Congressman Edward Royce; and
  • Professor Don Oberdorfer of Johns Hopkins University’s Nitze School of Advanced International Studies;
  • Minister Byung Se Yun of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea
