"LIFE AFTER CAPITOL HILL"
A panel discussion presented by the Korean American Coalition, Washington DC chapter (KAC-DC) &
Congressional Asian Pacific American Staff Association (CAPASA)

Attention congressional staffers (or anyone who works in the policy arena or has an interest in it): Have you ever asked yourself any of the following questions?

  • "How do I parlay my Capitol Hill experience into a meaningful job or career"?
  • "What kinds of jobs are well-suited to my background as a legislative or media advisor"?
  • "Congress is all I know. What am I going to do with my life?"
  • "When is a good time to leave the Hill"?
  • "How do I know if it's time to make a job or career change"?
  • "If I stay here too long, am I doomed to become a "lifer"?
If you've ever pondered any of these questions, this event is just for you!

Come and hear from a panel of seasoned veterans – former House and Senate staffers who've gone on to bigger and better things and have made their mark outside the Hill. They'll share their own unique experiences and insights – and will give you great ideas and inspiration as you ponder your next career move.

You'll hear from the following guest speakers:
  • Anne Kim, Director, Middle Class Project and Senior Policy Advisor, Third Way
(Formerly with Rep. Jim Cooper, D-TN)

  • Ben Wu, Assistant Secretary, Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development
(Formerly with Rep. Connie Morella, R-MD and former Deputy Under Secretary for Technology, U.S. Department of Commerce)

  • Irene Bueno, Principal, Nueva Vista Group LLC
(Formerly with the late Rep. Ed Roybal, D-CA, and the late Sen. Alan Cranston, D-CA, and former Clinton appointee at HHS and White House Domestic Policy Council)

  • Josh Brown, Director, Government Relations, CBS Corporation
(Formerly with Rep. Darrell Issa, R-CA)

  • Robert Yoon, Senior Political Producer, CNN
(Formerly with Sen. Ron Wyden, D-OR)

You won't want to miss this event. Come and be inspired by this all-star, bipartisan crew!
