Our membership meeting this
week has been postponed to make room for a KAC-DC co-sponsored
event, "From Vincent Chin to Virginia
Tech " - A 25th Anniversary Commemoration of Vincent Chin. As part
of the National Townhall on Hate Crimes, sponsored by APAs for
Progress, which will be holding events in New York, Los Angeles,
Chicago, and in Michigan, we will be holding a film screening of
an award-winning film documentary "Who Killed Vincent Chin?" followed
by a facilitated discussion.
"Who Killed Vincent Chin?" recounts
the murder of Vincent Chin,
an automotive engineer, mistaken to Japanese, who was slain
by an assembly line worker who blamed him for the competition by
Japanese auto makers that were threatening his job. The documentary
also shows how the murderer escaped justice in the court system.
