WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Korean American Coalition,
Washington, D.C. Area Chapter is pleased to announce
the 2005 Summer Internship in Washington, D.C. area
for college students. The 9-week internship opportunity
will take place from June 12th to August 14th. Interns
will receive a stipend of $2,000.
One
of KAC-DC’s mission’s is to develop future
leaders in the Korean American community. The Summer
College Internship Program is designed to provide personal
and professional development opportunities for Korean
American college students and to encourage them to take
on leadership roles not only in the fast-growing Korean
American community, but the community at-large. The
Internship Program includes opportunities for students
to intern in government and politics, media, as well
as the traditional corporate, and legal professions.
The internship program also includes one week of the
National College Leadership Conference participation
in California.
Qualifications
for the internship program are as follows:
• Undergraduate Students
• U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
• Interest in public affairs
• Strong oral & written communication skills
• Commitment to work full-time for 9 weeks
Past
KAC-DC Summer Interns have been placed in various congressional
offices, government agencies, State Farm Insurance Companies,
Precision Economics, LLC., and the 21st Century Group,
a government relations firm.

• Two letters of recommendation. (One academic
and one extra-curricular)
• Official academic transcript
Once
the applications have been reviewed by the Internship
Program Committee, finalists will be contacted for a
telephone or on-site interview. Selected interns will
